Description

Accountabilities

  • Piping Design: Develop and lead the development of piping layouts, isometrics, and detailed design drawings using industry-standard design software
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and cohesive designs
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies related to piping design. Apply technical expertise to solve complex design challenges and optimize project outcomes
  • Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate design activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and timelines
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of piping design deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements Implement and promote best practices for design quality and consistency
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to review and approve equipment and materials, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with piping design activities. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project impact
  • Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation, including material specifications, equipment data sheets, and design reports. Maintain accurate and organized project records
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all piping designs adhere to industry regulations, codes, and safety standards. Interface with regulatory authorities as needed

Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in piping design, with a focus on industrial projects
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.)
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead and motivate a design team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus

  • Function as an ambassador for the Company, always presenting the right image to existing and potential clients
