Description
The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for delivering technical solutions across a range of projects and technical areas, and for guiding and checking the technical solutions of more junior Engineers as necessary, on time and budget, and in accordance with all relevant Engineering and Company procedures. The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer will be pro-active in determining the optimum technical solution for each project they are working on, and in identifying improvements which might offer advantages in terms of time, cost or safety, thereby allowing the Company to deliver work more effectively. The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer will be familiar with current practice and developments in their technical area, and will as necessary bring any new technology, innovation or relevant changes in legislation to the attention of the
Company. The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer will also support the ongoing development of the policies and procedures of the Company and will identify any new tools, software or processes that could increase the efficiency of the Company’s technical delivery processes. The Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer will demonstrate full understanding of and adherence to all relevant Engineering Procedures, Policies and Standards, and their practical application.

- Instrument and Analytical datasheets
- SIL Verification to BS EB 61508 BS EN 61511
- Block cable drawings, Cable Routing Drawings and Equipment Layout Drawings
- Hook-Up Diagrams, Loop diagrams and Termination Diagrams
- P&ID Development
- Hazardous Area Classification and DSEAR
- Hazard Study Awareness and Participation 1 to 3
- SIL Determination ( Risk Graph LOPA)
- bs en 61511 Safety Requirements Specification
- Alarm management and User HMI
- Trip/ Interlock/ Alarm Schedules
- User requirement & Functional Design Spec Review
- Fire and Gas Systems Design
- Control System Selection, Field Instrument Selection and Material Selection

Commercial & Risk
- Inform project manager / line manager of potential project risks identified in a timely manner.
- Work within allocated CTR, man hours, and budget.
- Demonstrate clear understating of the commercial status of projects, identify and manage changes, and understand and manage own budget.
- Will support the development of the project plan and any help develop milestones.
- Will support the incorporation of approved changes into the project plan and will update the plan as required.
- Act as an ambassador for EFAB, always presenting the right image to existing and potential clients.
- To attend meetings and forums, representing the Company.
- Assist in the estimating of engineering work packages and development of proposals and other Business Development activities as required from time-to-time.
- Forge links and establish communication with clients and stakeholders

wider engineering community. - Be familiar with all relevant engineering and design software, with a good understanding of the availability and use of all relevant electronic tools and software.
- Awareness and understanding of all Engineering Procedures, Company Policies, processes and procedures.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Experienced Engineer
- Build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Educated to a minimum of HND or Degree level.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
- Experienced people manager, and competent team leader.
- Experienced negotiator and influencer at all levels.
- Can communicate skills, knowledge and experience, and apply them professionally as a trusted expert, to explain ideas and technical information and discuss and resolve technical issues.

- Full clean driving licence.
