ConocoPhillips – Piping Module for Humber Refinery - News

  • EFAB was awarded the project to fabricate, construct and install a soot blower piping module (PAU) for ConocoPhillips Humber Refinery to be transported along with a large boiler from our Immingham facility via our private access to Immingham dock to the refinery.
  • Due to the height of the PAU (16 metres) it was necessary to construct the unit in two halves in our workshops and move them to our assembly yard to join them together using a heavy lift crane. The weight was in excess of 100 tonnes.
  • Following the completion of the construction works the PAU was delivered on heavy load SPMT’s to the Humber Refinery to form part of the new FCCU (fluid catalytic cracking unit) Waste Heat Boiler. Installation took place using a 1350 tonne capacity crawler rigged with superlift.
  • The construction was managed on time by EFAB’s professional team and installed ahead of the planned shutdown at the refinery
  • In addition to the fabrication works, EFAB was also awarded the contract for site enabling works for the PAU and boiler along with the fabrication of 40t of ducting for the boiler
